This tour is a combination of Tour nr 10 and Tour nr 3a:
Our tour first takes us to romantic Heidelberg: the "old town" on the Neckar has around 1 million visitors from all over the world every year. We will show you the famous castle, the epitome of German romanticism. The spacious castle courtyard impresses with its mighty buildings from several centuries, even if some of them have only been preserved as ruins. From the huge terrace you have a wonderful view over the city. You will see one of the largest wine barrels in the world.
Then walk through the medieval center: to the Old Bridge and the Karlstor, the Renaissance House of the Knights, the Heiliggeistkirche.
Later we drive to Nuremberg, the capital of Franconia. A city with a very eventful history: in the Middle Ages a powerful European trading center, during the "Third Reich" the scene of the Reich Party Days and today a lively metropolis.
Nuremberg is also the birthplace of one of the most famous German artists: Albrecht Dürer. Every year, the most famous Christmas market in Germany takes place here: the Christkindlesmarkt.
The main attractions include the old town, the castle and the Germanic Museum: you have time for a private visit.
If you like, you can also try the famous Nuremberg bratwursts.
